Kyrre Baker has just launched a great new website, refererbin.com. The purpose of refererbin.com is to catch false referers (referer-spammers) and log them.
Over time you will be able to view statistics and download plug-ins for common blog-applications which will automatically re-direct referer-spammers from your blog to refererbin.com’s spam filter. You will also be able to download complete .htaccess-files for your Apache web server if you prefer to install the list of referer-spammers manually.
The service will be free of charge and open to everyone. It’s currently under development, and I’m giving Kyrre a hand with beta-testing and I’ve taken the job of creating a simple, intuitive, user-friendly and yet good-looking design.
